“ This place I visited with my friends and we were delighted with the food and service. There is a big variety of different dishes, everyone could find what he wants. I would definitely recommend the red snapper tacos - light choice, but still wouldn't let you hungry. The portions is big, more than any adult needs by my humble opinion. The server was friendly and welcoming. The service was fast, no complaints at all. ”
“ Ate here the other day with my mom and friend and we absolutely loved it! I got the coconut shrimp and elotes and they were both great. Our waiter was also very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is super fun and the restaurant is decorated super cute. We need more places like this!! I hope to eat here again soon when the weather is better and we can sit outside, they have a great patio with a nice view. Definitely recommend! ”
“ Love going to Hula Hut. Food was great, and the service was good and it was a perfect day to sit outside. Plus, if you are too much, you can walk around the area to walk off hour lunch! Update: New owner remodeled nice, great service, friendly, food was delicious. We still miss our old Austin Hula Hut. Everything was great. ”
“ The place is simply amazing when it comes to the food. We ordered the chicken fajitas and shrimp tacos and it was delicious. The weather was perfect to go out and sit on the patio so it was an enjoyable experience. Staff were super pleasant! Definitely going back again. ”
“ Great food. Fun atmosphere. We had a group of 12 and the waitresses kept up with us. We met our family up there another time and the kids loved feeding the ducks (they sell special food for the ducks). It gave the kids something to do while waiting on the food. We love eating outside on the patio. Great place. Lots of fun things for the kids to sit on out front too but they change it up from time to time so not always the same stuff. This time there was a boat and my grandson loved it. ”
“ Awesome place, lots of visual entertainment. They have a man made lake in the back with a large shark coming out of the water, a volcano that spews steam. The ducks swim around waiting for you to feed them while you eating on the extended patio outside. The patio is covered and has huge windows to let in the breeze. The food was amazing as well. They have one of the best chili rellenos I have ever had. They are small but seem to be deep fried, so the breading is actually crunchy! My husband had the open face ahi tuna tacos, another amazing dish! The kids will LOVE this place, it’s made to entertain them. This particular location is also right next to a wake board facility. You get to watch the people play in the water and ride the jumps. It adds to the Cali feel. ”
“ UPDATE! Visit Thurs., June 2024 dinner. They have really cleaned up the atmosphere by getting rid of the broken toys/boats. It feels cleaner and fresher with less. We still enjoyed the drinks and food. The stuffed avocado was cooked differently, but so delicious. The fish tacos were huge!!!! My husband couldn't even eat them all. The wait was long, and they forgot my drink. But my server Dominick was excellent!!! It has been a long time since I've been waited on by somebody who takes pride in what they are doing. OG REVIEW: Fun, funky atmosphere. Good drinks, really good food too! I always get the chicken stuffed avocado! Love it. We also had the fish sandwich, but it's odd that they have no tartar sauce. It didn't have ANY sauce on it. Don't recommend unless you request something to put on it. We like the little cars outside for the kids and you can walk the pier/dock and that's nice to kill time while you wait for a table. ”
“ This is a great local restaurant that has recently (within the last year) come under new ownership. The Polynesian elements have been downplayed (no more pineapple in the salads), but the menu is great and varied, leaning towards a Cali-Mex themed approach. They’ve begun more vegetarian options, too, which is great. Good food (good-sized portions, too) fun bar, and great kitschy vibe - one of my favorite places. ”
